What constitutes a “certified” EHR is to be determined by (HHS) Health and Human Service and (CCHIT) Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology, a private, non profit initiative. CCHIT is recognized certification body for electronic health records and their networks.
HHS will likely be basing many of their standards on the current work of CCHIT who is instrumental in the certification process of EHR. CCHIT publishes a list of Electronic Health Records that meets the standards necessary to be certified for stimulus payments. Read more:www.cchit.org.
